I am a proud mom of two wonderful boys, and I
currently reside in a small town just west of St. Louis, MO. It's not always easy to be a
full time mom and have a career of your own, but luckily I stumbled
upon a skill I didn't know I had...
I have been a jigsaw enthusiast since early
childhood. Puzzling has been a life-long passion for me, and I
finally decided to take my passion in a new direction.
As our
family started to grow, I thought it might be fun to have some
personalized puzzles to work on, maybe using some pictures of my
children and other favorite images. After much research I finally
decided to try my hand at making wooden puzzles. As my skills
improved and word got around about my new-found talent, my hobby was
evolving into a business!
I feel so fortunate that I have found
something I truly enjoy! How many people can honestly say that
they love their work? I am very passionate about what I do, and I
think it shows in the quality of my work.
I use 1/4-inch 5-ply Russian Birch plywood.
I print the images with high-quality inks on my photo printer. I
use a heat press to laminate and adhere the image to the wood.
Finally I use a scroll saw with a very small blade (.007" thick) and I
cut out each piece one at a time. Every adult jigsaw puzzle has my
special signature piece in it, one piece in the shape of a "K", signed,
dated, and numbered on the back. I do not put my "K" signature
piece in the children's puzzles, but I do sign, date, and number the
back of those puzzles as well.
Krazy Pieces is still somewhat new, but you
can plan on it being around for many years to come. Thanks for your support
and for your interest in my puzzles! |
